Is this a test my child has to pass?
The opposite. The checklist uses can mostly / sometimes / not yet columns and is filled in by observing normal daily life — never by quizzing your child. "Not yet" is treated as a normal, hopeful starting point, and the play plan shows you exactly which games grow each skill.
Do I need teaching experience or special supplies?
Neither. Every activity uses ordinary household items — paper, socks, cereal, tape, a die, a laundry basket — and each one includes a no-prep variation for busy days. Instructions are 3-4 simple steps written for tired parents, not teachers.
My child is only 3 — is it too early?
Not at all. The play activities suit ages 3-5, and the checklist gives you a relaxed head start with plenty of time to grow "not yet" skills through play. Starting early means school prep never has to feel rushed.
